What Does CBD Feel Like?

One of many powerful compounds found in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant, cannabidiol (CBD) has been known to support the body and mind in various ways. Among the many benefits our users experience, some of the main ones are a sense of calm for focus, relief from everyday stresses, help in recovery from exercise-induced inflammation, and more.*

But what does CBD feel like when you take it? How will you know when or how you’re actually realizing the effects of CBD?

We’ll get into some examples of what to look for below, but for now, the most accurate answer to those questions is, “It depends.” Specifically, it depends on what your body needs.

What to Know Before Taking CBD

Everybody’s body is different, so when it comes to CBD, everybody is likely to experience a slightly different response. As you’ll come to learn, CBD works with your body’s Endocannabinoid System, which helps maintain stability and overall wellness, so any effects that you feel will be personalized based on what you have going on internally. Results from CBD vary based on how much and how often you take them.

In the meantime, here are some things you should be aware of with CBD:

Plant compounds work better together. CBD is just one of over 80 cannabinoids that can be extracted from hemp. What scientists have found is that these plant compounds tend to have a better effect on the body when they work together rather than alone.

This is known as the Entourage Effect, and it’s a large part of why we choose to make our products “full spectrum.” Since the research shows that using the whole plant maximizes benefits delivered throughout the body, we make sure to give you as much of Mother Nature’s goodness as we can.

CBD is non-intoxicating. THC, the main active ingredient in Cannabis sativa, is both a psychoactive compound and an intoxicating cannabinoid that leaves its users feeling “high.” CBD is a different cannabinoid found in Cannabis sativa and while it is technically psychoactive, it is non-intoxicating. The level of THC present in Cannabis sativa is what determines the plant’s classification as marijuana or hemp; hemp, by definition, contains no more than 0.3% THC.

What People Say CBD Feels Like

Now that you have a better understanding of what CBD is and how it works with the body (at least at a high level), it’s time to dig a little deeper into what our customers have been saying.

A long-time user, Lisa, has said, “I have been consistently using this product for 10 months now and have noticed the significant impact it has on my overall well-being.” Other users have described CBD’s effects as promoting “an overall relaxed feeling”—one that “cascades into all other daily activities.”

While we recommend following the directions for use, because everyone is different, you might find some variations that work best for you.  Patrick, a home inspector, said, “I take 6 to 8 drops almost every night. My clients tell me that I appear very calm.” By comparison, Larry has said, “I only use 2-3 drops and I feel the effects right away.”

In terms of how long it takes, Susie has said, “I’m not sure if my experience is unique but it seems to kick in slightly within a half hour. Then, about 2 hours in, my thought process begins to change (for the better).”

For each one of these customers, CBD has had a positive impact on their daily routines. For others, however, CBD remains somewhat of a mystery. One customer, John, said, “I have used your CBD oil and feel no discernable difference. I don’t get it.” This is not terribly uncommon, unfortunately.

To these users, we offer guidance on how to expand their relationships with CBD. In fact, we’ve pulled together some of our best tips on how to take CBD

If you’re starting out with our 7 mg CBD/1mL hemp extract oil or our 17 mg CBD/1mL variety, take the recommended serving as indicated on the package for 4 to 6 weeks.
